Unicars recognizes the importance of personal data protection. With regard to the use of personal data, please read below.

    1. Personal Data and data protection
      The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016-679 sets the principles followed by Unicars Limited (“Unicars”) when processing your personal data and it applies in relation to all services offered by UnicarsΑ. The purposes for which Unicars collects, processes and keeps your personal data concern your activities in relation to the provision and promotion of our products and services to you and include, inter alia, the following::i. The performance of and compliance with our contractual and legal obligations in relation to the offer of a price for the purchase of a vehicle, spare parts and other relevant products and services, vehicle maintenance and repair services, the order and contract for the purchase of a vehicle, spare parts and other relevant products and services, their invoicing, the provision of a guarantee in relation to your vehicle and the registration of your vehicle with the Road Transport Department.ii. The provision of information and brochures in relation to your vehicle, maintenance and spare parts related issues, reminders for a vehicle service, campaigns for the maintenance or recall of vehicles on the basis of the instructions of the manufacturer or other competent authorities in order to comply with our legal obligations as well as to safeguard our legal interests in relation to the provision of our services to you, including your correct and timely information about safety issues and the proper use and maintenance of your vehicle.iii. The conduct of surveys and statistical analysis including, inter alia, the Customer Satisfaction Survey in relation to the acquisition of a vehicle as well as in relation to its maintenance services, on the basis of our legal interests and contractual obligations towards our product manufacturers aiming to preserve and improve the quality and high level of our services, keeping in mind the protection of your personal data.

      iv. Marketing activities of our products and services such as invitations to events, offers, advertisements and market research on the basis of your expressed consent.

      In relation to the above, we may contact your either by post, email, telephone, text message or instant message.

      Β. Personal data contained in our archives are given by consent either when you contact us directly or upon your instructions. Such data may include, inter alia:

      i. Your name and surname, identity card or passport number and contact details such as address, telephone number and email address.

      ii. If services or a vehicle are purchased, the vehicle registration certificate, data and technical details of the vehicle, the vehicle’s insurance cover and any loan or leasing documents.

      iii. Information in relation to your prior transactions with us.

      C. Our archives will be updated periodically in the same manner as the one used to collect them.

      D. We store your personal data in our archives in both hard copies and electronic form and we keep them either at our premises or elsewhere. Our staff has access to such data from our premises throughout Cyprus. Safety measures have been put in place to ensure the confidentiality of data and such safety measures are frequently updated and upgraded.

      Ε. Unicars may transmit your personal data to entities either controlled by or affiliated to Unicars, to provide and promote its products and services, on the basis referred to above. Such entities are contractually bound by personal data processing agreements containing confidentiality clauses and restrictions on the processing of such data.

      F. Unicars shall keep your personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes and on the basis referred to above, including the requirement to comply with our contractual and legal obligations.

      G. As regards the personal data that Unicars collects about you, processes and keeps, you are entitled to their mobility; to submit a request in writing to have access to them and correct them; to restrict their processing or object to their processing and to have them deleted.

      You are entitled to revoke your express consent at any time by submitting a request in writing to the Unicars Data Protection Officer at 144, Giannou Kranidioti, 2235 Latsia or by email at dpo@unicars.com.

      You are also entitled to make a complaint at the Office of the Commissioner for the Protection of Personal Data.

  1. Technical data We may collect technical data, such as the internet browser you use or the operating system installed on your computer. Such information does not disclose your identity and it is simply used to record traffic at the website.We may also install a “cookie” record on the hard drive of your computer. This will allow us to recognise you as a user when you re-visit the website, allowing us to adjust the content to your preferences. If you do not wish to use “cookies” you may de-select the relevant option in your browser settings. You may also delete any “cookies” from your browser.
